National District Attorney’s Association     Arlington, VA
Assistant Director of Education and Engagement
Represent NDAA and its positions with affiliate organizations, in public forums, and at community events. Serve as the point of contact on several Federal Grant projects. Provide technical assistance on prosecutorial issues, methods, and practices, and conduct research on same. Participate in training curriculum development for prosecutors, judges, law enforcement officers, court personnel, and community advocates. Prepare, collect, and analyze resource materials and assist in the presentation of training modules and conferences at remote sites around the United States. Review and approve basic contracts and budgets for the same.

1/16 – 12/23 Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney     Spotsylvania, VA
Commonwealth's Attorney
Represented the County of Spotsylvania and the Commonwealth of Virginia before all local courts. Prosecuted all levels of crime, ranging from traffic violations to Capital Murder. Prepared appeal responses and draft appeals to the Court of Appeals. Provided legal guidance to local and state law enforcement agencies. Taught legal topics to local law enforcement through the local sheriff’s office and at the regional law enforcement academy. Developed and implemented criminal justice strategies and sentencing alternatives to include: the Rappahannock Regional Veterans’ Docket, the Spotsylvania Behavioral Health Docket, and the SLATE Misdemeanor 1st offender program. Supervised approximately thirty employees in the office and the Victim-Witness Office. Represented the office in numerous local charities, community activities, and events. Managed and directed an approximate 3.4 million-dollar annual budget. Served as Special Prosecutor when appointed by Circuit Courts in Virginia to serve in other jurisdictions.

09/04 – 12/15 Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney     Fredericksburg, VA
Assistant / Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney
Represented the City of Fredericksburg and the Commonwealth of Virginia before all local courts. Prosecuted all levels of crime, ranging from traffic violations to First-Degree murder. As Deputy, I supervised the Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys and the office administrative staff.

06/03 – 09/04 Office of the Public Defender     Warrenton, VA
Assistant Public Defender II
Represented indigent defendants before all of the Courts of the 20th Judicial District encompassing Loudoun, Fauquier, and Rappahannock counties. Represented clients on charges ranging from minor misdemeanors to First-Degree murder. Prepared appeals for clients to be heard before the appellate courts of Virginia. Supervised assistant public defenders and office staff.

02/02 – 06/03 Department of Juvenile Justice     Stafford, VA
Senior Probation Officer / Intake Officer
Applied applicable criminal laws relating to prosecuting and detaining juveniles. Conducted background investigations to draft court reports, making recommendations for sentencing and placement. Assigned probation cases, detention visits, and court reports. Reviewed and approved staff's files, service plans, and court reports.
