Re: Statement of Endorsement by the Fredericksburg Republican Committee.

I recently received an endorsement from the Republican Committee of Fredericksburg. While I appreciate the recognition, I did not seek the endorsement and I did not accept it.

The duties of the office are to enforce the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia as enacted by the General Assembly and the ordinances passed by the Fredericksburg City Council. Responsibilities should be carried out fairly, impartially, and without regard to politics. Justice must be administered without fear or favor, and that can be achieved by maintaining the public's trust in the non-partisan nature of this role, guided solely by the law and the pursuit of justice for all.

Following receipt of the endorsement, I conveyed to the Chair of the Committee my sincere appreciation, while respectfully declining to accept it.
